Highly, highly recommended! Especially for $8/bottle at World Market. (Not sure if the sale is still on. We picked these up awhile ago.) I swear it tastes as good as some of the wine we’ve picked up for $40/bottle. Woof. Sure glad we found this one!
Back On Track
For the first time in 5 months, I ran pain-free! Though it was only a half mile, I cannot begin to express just how wonderful it felt to lift my legs and bound around the track. Bonus? Shaun was my running buddy!

On Sunday, we made a trip to Athletic Performance in Willow Glen. Remember how great they are from this post? There, they helped Shaun pick out the perfect pair of New Balance running shoes and SuperFeet. A good sign? He marveled at how great they felt and announced that they made his feet want to run — so we did! We headed over to a local high school track to stick to ‘bouncy’ surfaces (like tracks and treadmills) for now. Additionally, since it was Shaun’s first real run in his adult life and I was taking it easy on my foot, we decided to walk a lap, jog a lap, walk a lap, jog a lap, and walk our final lap. Doesn’t sound like much, but it was a huge accomplishment for both of us!
I did another half mile on the treadmill the following day and my legs (not my feet – thankfully) are feelin’ it today. Makes me wonder how I was running 10 miles at a time before! I’ve got a bit of a ways to go, but I am so, so thankful to be back on my feet.
Cuteness
Just got home from visiting G Mama and Baby Ava today!
Isn’t she precious?! And mom is positively gorgeous and glowing, too!
I first met little Ava when she was just 3 days old. Saw her again a few weeks ago but she was asleep. Today, tho, I was amazed at how much she’s grown in just a few weeks and how much personality she’s got already. She’s just a delight to hold!
Lucky me, I got to cradle this little cutie for quite a bit! Even got to give her a bottle, burp her, and then made countless laps around the kitchen island until she fell asleep in my arms.
<3
Haven’t yet mastered balancing a 10 lb baby in one arm and eating, so I had to set her down for a bit before diving into this yummy spread G put together for us. I was surprised that for all the weight lifting I do, my arms were pretty tired after our cuddle session. Going to have to add in a new move or two at the gym just so I can hold her longer next time
