After working up an appetite golfing at Pruneridge Saturday morning, Shaun and I headed down Saratoga Ave a few blocks to check out the newest Moveable Feast location.
The food trucks included*
- Chairman Bao – Baos
- Iz It – Hawaiianese
- Le Bon – French Vietnamese
- MoGo BBQ – Korean Mexican
- Sam’s Chowdermobile – Seafood
- Treatbot – Karaoke Ice Cream
Shaun and I arrived around 1 pm and immediately made a beeline for Sam’s. To our pleasant surprise, there was NO LINE! In the past, we’ve waited for 30 minutes for Sam’s at Oakland’s Eat Real, and we were hungry today, so this was great!
In less than 5 minutes after putting in our order and handing over $26, we were chowin down on a lobster roll ($16.50) and shrimp po’ boy with a side of fries ($9.99). Holy yum were these AMAZING!! I’ve always loved their lobster rolls and this one was no exception, but this was also the first time having their po boy and now I’m hooked! Torn, too… Which do I order next time?? (I know, poor me — what a pickle to find oneself in, huh?)
That third thing in the photo above’s an ice cream cookie sandwich by Treatbot, another fab find!
It was all sooo good, Shaun was tempted to drive up to Sam’s Chowder House on Sunday. I say we just go back for more next weekend!
