Saturday’s workout – On Saturday after a solid 10+ hours of sleep and several days of rest and ice for my knee, I fueled up with a bowl of Peanut Butter Puffins and told Shrek I was going to head over to the trail and see how far I could run before my leg started hurting.

That’s 8.63 miles in 1 hr 6 mins at a 6:57 minute per mile pace! And I felt great! Up until about 8.5 miles, that is. That’s about when my knee started reminding me it was still unhappy. Despite, I’m super happy with that distance and time. The last time I ran this distance was a good month and a half ago. I finished in about the same time, but I was running back-to-back days and my legs were pissed off for the remainder of the day and I remember feeling really beat. This time, though, I was absolutely fine!
Got home, showered, and had just enough time to share a lox bagel sandwich with Shrek…
…before pulling on this ensemble for Gina’s birthday brunch with the girls in Los Gatos.

After a nightmare of a time trying to find parking in downtown Los Gatos, I ran into Bunches flower shop to pick up some Irises — G’s favorite flowers. I had the foresight to bring a little carafe and ribbon with me.
2nd stop: Icing On the Cake for cupcakes! Got the birthday girl 1 Peanut Butter and 1 Pink Lady. 
And finally made it to I Gatti for lunch where I dined with these lovely ladies.

The beef carpaccio and gnocchi were my faves! Taking Shrek back pronto to try. However, the flavors have got nothing on Nick’s which is still my absolute favorite restaurant in downtown Los Gatos. Trying to go this coming weekend 
A walk around town with Sonja and G to do a little window shopping after that lunch was quite necessary. Oof. Especially with the dinner I had planned for that evening…… Epic ‘Steak and (Twice!) Baked Potatoes’ post to follow shortly!
