The Right Stuff

Holy distance! I had no idea this was in me when I set out for my run this morning!

The half marathon is starting to look more feasible!

Part of what I like about blogging is being able to see what I did in terms of eating and working out in the days leading up to my runs that contribute to or hinder my performance. Since I already covered Thursday, here’s a look at my eats and activities on Friday.

  • 7 am breakfast:1 bowl of Kashi Strawberry Fields with milk
  • 10 am snack: 1 pesto bagel and chive cream cheese, 1/2 chicken breast
  • 1 pm lunch: pho with rare steak, 1 tall Caramel Macchiato with extra caramel from Starbucks

  • 5 pm snack after a gym workout (30 minute treadmill run/20 minute elliptical/15 minutes weights): watermelon
  • 6 pm dinner: met up with Kristi, Susie, and Gina for dinner at LB Steak on Santana Row. LOVE the ambience and decor here and the fact that the kitchen is on full display.

The food isn’t as fab as I’d like, especially for the price, but as always the company was top-notch!

Gina and I shared the salmon entree (not recommended :( ), green beans (very nice!), and scalloped potatoes (sinfully good and fully loaded with cheese, bacon, and sour cream!). I also indulged in two dinner rolls (whole wheat and olive) with liberal pats of butter. Note: no wine or cocktails tonight for me!

  • 10 pm dessert: after a little window shopping, Susie, Gina, and I headed to Pinkberry! And yes, it’s worth the wait!!

{The line we waited in at Pinkberry. Fortunately they came around with samples several times!}

{Me and G — who’s going to be a mama!! Congratulations!! :D }

{Me and the lovely Susie who treated us to Pinkberry. Thanks Suze!}

{Salted Caramel with Kiwi, Rasberries, and Strawberries – Divine!}

I’m totally attributing today’s run to Pinkberry and have decided to work it in as part of my regular training regimen ;)
