Shrek and I just returned from a most thought provoking and inspiring screening of Tom Shadyac’s I Am as part of the Cinequest Film Festival here in San Jose.
I am absolutely bursting with commentary. Positive, glowing remarks might I add since the title of the post might suggest otherwise. (The title is actually in reference to the red wall backdrop of the photos below.) However, I will save it all for tomorrow’s post and instead, bid you all a goodnight with this outfit and dinner post from tonight.
As an Elite Yelper, I was invited to attend a hosted happy hour at Il Fornaio at the Hotel Saint Claire downtown followed by a screening of I Am. Unfortunately, the logistics required to attend both events were not possible with my work schedule. So instead of being rushed, Shrek and I did our own pre-show thing. We parked at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel (formerly the Hotel Montgomery) and grabbed a few happy hour drinks and light bites at the hotel bar, Mosaic. Bonus? We got our parking validated/compensated there before strolling around the block to the screening, saving us $15. At first, when I saw this illuminated red wall outside of Mosaic I was kicking myself for leaving my camera at home. However, I’m rather taken with the grainy effect of my iPhone’s camera.
