Buttery Acorn Squash

Mission: accomplished! Thanks to receiving our Christmas bonuses early at Friday’s company Christmas Party (a really fun catered lunch and bowling fete where I scored a 128!), I am the thriiiilled owner of a Canon Rebel T2i. I know, I know, I’m supposed to wait until Christmas, but I really wanted to be able to document the holiday festivities — which includes a visit from my parents! — with my new camera.

Here’s a little demo of the first photos I snapped while baking Mama Shrek’s buttery acorn squash:

Ingredients:

  • Acorn Squash
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instruction:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Cover a cookie sheet with tin foil. Spread butter ALL OVER
  • Wash, cut in half, clean/hollow out squash
  • Place a little pat of butter in center. Sprinkle with salt and pepper

  • Place on cookie sheet like so

  • Bake at 375 degrees 30-40 mins up to 1 hour
  • Turn squash face up and broil 8 minutes
  • Finito!

(Note: only photo taken without new camera for comparison.)
