Looks like I liked it. What do you think?
Clean plate club at Mizu
We have a lot of great sushi here in the Bay Area and while Mizu isn’t at the top of my list for sushi, I love their house salads and free miso soup. LOVE! If I worked closer I would come here for lunch just for their miso and house salad.

Mizu House Salad. $3.95
Mizu Miso Soup. FREE!
I also have a soft spot in my gut from their potstickers. I mean I have a soft spot in my heart for their postickers. Hehe! Theirs are delicious and crunchy. I like ‘em fried. It really brings out their flavor.
Mizu Potstickers, fried and fantastic. (They offer them steamed, too.) $5.95
Their sushi is just a-okay in my book as long as you avoid the rolls drizzled in mayo-based sauce. Like these.
I forgot what these two are but they tasted the exact same because of that sauce. Lay off the sauce, guys!
If you go I recommend the Cool Hawaii ($9.95) and Hot (as in spicy) Mango ($12.95) rolls. Their cool, refreshing, and lightly sweet from the mangos and kiwis.
Thanks to Shrek we belong to the clean plate club. I definitely couldn’t eat all that by myself! The past few times I’ve been we’ve gotten our leftovers to go (with my metabolism I usually eat the rest once I get home) and I must say they do a beautiful job packaging them up. They even include the orchid which is a nice touch and makes it feel more like a to-go meal.
Mizu is just down Winchester past Santana Row. Although it’s surrounded by a sad looking strip mall, it blows Blowfish Sushi (on Santana Row) out of the water in terms of flavor, price, and service. I almost forgot to mention, Mizu has free valeted parking and a doorman. Yes, it seems out of place here but hey, if someone wants to open a door for me I go with it.
Okay, now I’m hungry and rethinking the Thai food I’m supposed to go for tonight after tennis.
