I’m what you might call a cupcake fiend and Kara’s in Santana Row and Icing on the Cake in Los Gatos are where I go to get my fix.

I have yet to encounter a Kara’s cupcake that I don’t like but my favorites are the Fleur de Sel, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Smores. Their Smore cupcakes are so cute with a thin graham cracker layer on the bottom and the frosting looks like a toasted marshmallow!

My only gripe about this place is that it’s on Santana Row so it’s tough to just run in and buy a few cupcakes. Also, the shopfront is so tiny that it can only fit about 3 customers in it at a time so there can be a looong wait outside, especially after dinner. But they’re so worth the hike from the parking garage and the wait!
