Saturday night immediately following our wine tasting at Press Club my friends and I scampered over to Osha Thai on 2nd Street. I say scampered because one, it was FREEZING and two, we were a little tipsy during the 3 block walk. We arrived right on time for our 830 pm reservation and our host had our table waiting for us. Lovely!
Whenever I expect 5 or more in my party I reserve one of their large tables along the right wall. I guess it’s as close to banquet seating as you get here. It is so great for large groups and I always receive better service here than I do when sitting in their regular seating area with just one or two others. *Note: on their website they will tell you that they accept reservations for parties of five or more. However, when I called they said it must be for a party of 6 or more. I said fine, make it six then showed up with five and I was fine.
We kicked off dinner with a few lively libations.

Then moved on to Summer Rolls (I think I could make a meal out of just these but they went too fast!)
And SPICY papaya salad. This may look all delicate and innocent, but we ordered it Thai-hot. Our server asked, “Thai hot? Are you sure?” twice before bringing it out. Some people at our table who shall remain nameless couldn’t handle the heat but I was in Heaven!
Pad Thai and Yellow Curry. We also got a green curry that was delish, too!
Volcanic Beef was a hit, no surprise there.
Another reason I love Osha Thai? Prices are perfectly reasonable, especially for the high quality of the food they dish up. With all the plates we shared plus a round of drinks and a generous tip the total was $30 pp. My only complaint was that there were no leftovers!
