Last night my friend and I tried a little hole-in-the-wall Korean restaurant on El Camino at the Santa Clara/Sunnyvale border. It’s called SGD Tofu House but they need to rename this place OMG Tofu House because OMG it is SO GOOD!

BEST KOREAN SHORT RIBS EVER! ($17) They give you tongs and scissors and you get to cut them yourself.

I was in Heaven. So was my friend who is a vegetarian. Especially with all the veggies and noodles that automatically accompanied our order. The best part? FREE UNLIMITED REFILLS on these guys! I think my friend and I ate our way through 5 refills of their delicious Jap Chae and 3 refills of kimchee. The pink jelly looking dish in the lower right had a surprisingly pleasant ginger taste.

Love the tennis balls! And service here was fantastic. So friendly and attentive. Each time we cleared a little  side dish it was quickly refilled. They speak very broken English and I speak no Korean so it was fun (not frustrating in the least!) trying to communicate with each other. Absolutely nothing was lost in translation and it’s now my new favorite Korean restaurant!

I already want to go back for more!
