Although my birthday wasn’t until the 7th, the Saturday before Shrek and I zipped up to San Francisco to get a head start on celebrating.

We lucked out. The weather was gorgeous and it was smooth sailing all the way up to the city. We also found $10 parking right off Mission and Minna behind the restaurant at which we’d be ending our night. Though the map makes it look like a hike, it’s way zoomed in and Press Club is only a 5 minute walk up Mission towards Union Square.
At Press Club we met up with about a dozen friends and family for a little wine tasting.
Press Club is an awesome venue to gather for a birthday celebration. They’ve got both private and semi-private seating you can reserve
and everyone is generous to birthday girls… and their Shreks. I swear Shrek is the luckiest guy in terms of receiving complimentary drinks and foodstuffs! At Press Club alone he received just as many complimentary birthday pours as I and at Osha he even received his own birthday cake! (See below.)
Osha has phenomenal Thai food and I loved having a party of 10 at our table. Everyone ordered a dish and we ate family style, which meant I got to sample several new dishes which became fast favorites. There are about six locations around San Francisco but I’ve only been to the one on 2nd Street in SOMA. Their dishes are always fresh and flavorful, their service on point and friendly. I wish we had one in San Jose!
Fresh Rolls
THE BEST Pad Thai and Spicy Yellow Curry

Hey! Why does he have one too?
Happiness is…
Chocolate lava cake
I had so much fun! Maybe a little too much. Testament?
I didn’t realize how much the wine went to my head until the following morning. Nope, no major hangover. Wanting to relive the prior night’s festivities I went to pull my camera from my handbag. My camera was nowhere it be found. I recalled leaving it out on the dinner table all night and figured, drunk me, I left it at the restaurant. I’d call them later and went back to bed. Only later when I decided to clean the tornado that hit my closet did I find my camera under a pile of clothing. When I scrolled through the photos I discovered I held an entire photo shoot when I got home. Apparently I really liked my outfit!

It looks like the only thing bad about the evening is that dad and I weren’t there……………….
